Stock Suspension setting for a 200lbs Rider

Recommended Posts

Hallo Guys,

Is there any Rider out there wich weights about 200 lbs and still have his original Suspension on his 2004 YZ450F?

What is your setting than?

My Stock settimg on the back is 7 klicks out for both Pull and Push(is that correct spelling?? ?)

And on the Fork I got 12 klicks out at the Top screws(Push)

How did you change your settings?

In my opinion the stock setting is almost perfect, but maybe i can improve it a little ?:awww:

Thanks,

baycrosser

I also weigh the same and I am running everything stock.I have read a lot in the suspention forum and when I start jumping bigger I will probably have to either jump up to stiffer springs or revalve. See the race-tech web site or mx-tech site for more info, or there are recent topics on this in the suspention forum on this site.

Howdy,

Just came back from a almost Supercross like Track and must say I still in the Stock setting and everything works fine for me.

Ok I maybe dont make that 40 Feet Jumps but not bad at all and way not the slowest on the Course, so until jet my Suspension works fine ?:awww:

Will post the Pics from today in about an hour from now in a diff. Threat ??

Your weight & riding style & skill level determine what settings you need. The '04 450 comes sprung for a 185 person. For an beginner level you are near the max. of what your suspension can handle. You just have to adjust the clickers all the time to find settings that you like. Also, you'll be changing them as conditions change. I change mine every week almost. You don't need the gold valving unless you are a faster junior, or intermediate. If you're more of a novice rider, consider .49 kg front springs to start. I'd consider a shock spring for 200 pounds. You're talking about a $ 150 layout for much nicer suspension. I weight 192 and went with the race tech valving & .49 front springs. Very plush now!

Enjoy
