I searched and did not find anything. Is it as easy as the older yz to wr transmission conversions were?

There was a post on this during the upgrade(er uh downgrade) of the forum. Apparently it was lost when they switched back. The answer unfortunately is no you cannot put the WR gears in a YZ450. The cases are completely different with the YZ designed to only accomodate 4 sp. On the 400/426 it was possible but no longer.

try

yz 5sp

for the search.

A five speed requires an entire transmission, gears, shafts, shift cam, shift forks and shift shafts from a 5sp.
In addition some cases machining is required.

It's more than dos pesos when you've actually done it, SFO.

YZ 400: When you do the search go back a year. The post is from last November, I think. Looks like $3K easy.
