when I bought my bike, it came with some pro-tapers.. and bark busters..

I also had a generic barmount kit that came with the bike as well, but obviously the reason the previous owner (only 30 miles on the bike when I got it) never put them on is the top triple is one piece.

So, who's got what? applied, scotts, throw them out.

pro's, and con's

ease of install? stock mounting stuff.. and if anyone has theirs dualsported/motarded and plated, any info pertaining to headlight/speedo mounting would also be cool

gracias

Mine has a pro taper on it with adaptors bolted into the original position to suit the difference size. It suits me better coz I have it motard converted and it allows me to raise the forks in the triple clamps about another 1".

i rode with this setup for the 1st time today... was only on the street but felt good for me :) Posted Image
I'm tall and having the bars further forward helps heaps. Thats an Acerbis diamond headlight there too, easy mounting.

so, are you saying it's a WR450 stock triple? it's one piece, so did they mod the top triple to accomidate the fat bars?

thanks

Josh,
I don't think that part is listed on their website at the moment, but the retail price is $AU215 , which I thought was a pretty good bargain. It's a copy of the Pro Taper Clamp
You need to make some brackets for the blinkers and brake hose ring. Also, the odo bracket needs modification to fit, but it wasn't much of a problem. Had it all done in a few hours.

Tusk makes an adapter to mount Protapers (or any other fat bar) to the stock triple clamp.
The adapter bolts to the original clamp and raises the bars 3/4 inch.
The adapter is avaliable at Rocky Mountain MC--$35
