Is diet soda bad (caffeine free) for you?

Recommended Posts

If I were you I would stop the diet sodas with their fake sweeteners (synthetic chemicals) and go for some black coffee instead, or unsweet tea brewed strong. Then grab a real pepsi say once or twice a day, if you must. Avoid cookies, candy, donuts, and snacky cakes in the meantime and you should be fine with drinking real soda once or twice a day.

If you like to eat junk food, stick with salty fatty ones instead of sweet ones, but only frito-lay products since they contain NO trans fatty acids. Do NOT drink alcohol with the junk food, because Alcohol, like Weed, enhances your appetite and will make you munch too much.

Aspartame isn't the best for you...but splenda is... drink Diet Rite, its made with splenda.

I recently swithced to Diet Rite, no sodium, no aspartame, no caffeine. The stuff tastes pretty good, but without all of the supposed bad stuff. I don't drink alcohol at all or snack on junk food very often (unless I'm watching a fight or race). I drink one cup of coffee in the morning and the soda I drink is caffeine free. I guess my questions are: Is soda without caffeine, aspartame, and sodium bad for you? Does it eat away at your stomach lining? What other side effects or health effects are caused by over consumption?

Thanks for your input.

YES, soda will eat away your stomach.

I now enjoy a Zantac everyday. But I can console myself, that I did it to myself. Most sodas contain phosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid cleans showers very nicely. Eats soap scrum right out of the grout. Something to think about. It finally hit me one day as I was reading the ingredient of the shower cleaner and realized it was exactly what was in my diet Pepsi.

Anyway, it only takes one Pepsi now to make my stomach kill me.

All soda is bad whether it is diet or not fake sweetener or not, it spikes your blood sugar level and make you moody when your sugar level comes down, same with caffiene. I cut out all this sugar and caffiene crap about a year and a half ago and have rediscovered water, it actually hydrates you and I lost a dozen pounds just by switching. I also have a constant energy level instead of spikes that really end up wearing you out.
