Rear suspension, klx125 linkage on 140L

Does anybody tried this mod?

My son's bike is a KLX140L with KX font and rear suspension. Also the linkage triangle is flipped. Does this mod help to compensate the longer fork? How does this impact on rear suspension behavior?

I use the lower dog bone portion of a KLX125 linkage with the triangle portion of my OEM linkage flipped. The KLX125 dog bone is a hair shorter than the 140's. This will raise the rear end slightly. I was happy with the results. It feels like the combination of the flipped OEM linkage and shorter dog bone made my rear suspension stiffer. I was very happy with the result. I never ran my bike with the combination of the flipped OEM triangle part with the OEM dog bone.

Are you using stock shock?

Yes, stock shock. The 140L comes with a pretty decent adjustable shock. The standard KLX140 comes with a much cheaper non adjustable shock,

i will jump in here with a question, what year KX 85 front froks/ suspension is mostly a bolt on mod.

I think any 85 or 100 will work but to be 100% sure stay years 2000 and newer.

I think all of the upside down KX85/100 forks are the same. The forks are a complete bolt on, with all the correct parts. The rear shock is more involved. Someone here did a build thread on one years ago.
