KX250 Cylinder Question

Have a 97 KX250 as a winter project, but having an incredibly difficult time finding 97 PV. Wondering if I could throw a 1999 KX250 Cylinder and Powervalve on the 1997 bottom end with all 97 internals including stator, flywheel etc. Could I use 97 reeds? I assume the 97 carb would still work with it?

Not looking to use a 99 PV on the 97. I'm looking to use the 99 cylinder with 99 PV on the 97 bottom end and internals, including stator, flywheel, cdi, etc.

It'll bolt right on.  I think the actuator is the same too.  Later bikes used a two stage valve with a different length throw but I don't think that was until 2001.  Should be no problem.
