Who offers the best bike armor I.E. skid plates?

Just got my WR and want to start upgrading starting with armor. All suggustions are welcome! ?

In my humble opinion the armor ranks like this:

1) Above anything else, get some radiator guards. At ~$275 each, one little tumble could not only make you have to push your bike out of the woods, but at a minimum you'll spend $200 on a radiator even if you get lucky on Ebay. I've got Flatlands and they are superior to any other that I've seen.

2) Skid plates are good if you're going to "ride the rocks". I've got a friend with a WR450 and he doesnt see the need for them, but I beleive in protecting my bike BEFORE something happens.

3) Hand guards to protect your knuckles from trees, limbs, and anything else you may brush up against. They've also saved my clutch and brake perchs too.

4) I like a rear brake fin to protect the rotor. A front is also nice, but not really vital.

Have fun with the mods, you're bike will rip once you do them. Check out Thumperfaq.com for the mods to your WR.

That rooster performance stuff looks good but if you go to order, the rad, case, and hand guards aren't available from the 450s yet ?

i like the look of the rad guard in the link. how long till they have them for the 04?

as for a bash plate. i have never seen any better plate then what a local aluminum welder can do. grab some aluminum plate {you can cut on a WOOD table saw} cut out what you need. and get friendly with a welder.

they even "bling up" nicely if needed.

the one we are building for my wr is like this one but stronger and more coverage.

I have been using Utah Sport Cycle skid plates lattely. They fit good and seem very strong.

The Rooster Radiator guards for the 450 are nearly done, they used my buddies 450 for measurements about three weeks ago, and the new parts are due any day now. I have been told the case saver for the 450 isn't far behind. Rest assured, all that stuff for your 450(and my 426) is coming down the pipe soon. ?

The design and testing for the Rooster Performance 426/450 rad guard and skid plate are done and being manufactured as we speak. The rad guard is extremely strong and excellent at side impacts and the skid plate is a very clean design, easy to install and full coverage.
