[Honda addict]

Was riding Sunday night and was in 3rd gear when the machine started to lose power. there was a hissing noise coming out of exhaust. So I let off throttle it idled down and was fine.did same thing 2day. Was wondering if anyone has had same problem and if so what is the fix?

I had a similar problem with my Honda quad (which was much older than yours) and it turned out to be a broken baffle in the muffler. When it came loose, it blocked the exhaust and made a hissing sound. On that ride, it made so little power I resorted to kicking it to loosen things up to get going again. The pipe had to be replaced to get back the power, but you could cut it apart and remove the broken part if you're into that.

Ok. makes sense to me because I've been noticing a tinny sound from muffler and it's louder. looks like I'll be buying a new muffler. Thanks man!!

Ok got the dg put on the ol rancher. Made one hell of a difference. No efi programmer just a uni air filter no popping or backfire. And sounds great only about 88 db. Feels like it puts out the same power as my buddy's 500 honda foreman.no more dying at a bad time. Well worth the 180$
