Leaking carb during transport

Recommended Posts

I haven't noticed that problem yet.

Well, just think that all that gas was coming out just bouncing around in your truck. It was prolly also coming out while riding. This is usually cause the float bowl is outta adjustment. This can mask the issue of it spilling out the excess fuel.

True. Although every time I touch this bike I seem to break something. First ktm after spending a lifetime on hondas. Mind you I am a mechanic but this bike......I swear. If I didn't love that motor so much.........

Really? I just bought my first KTM. 4 hours and nothing is broken so far. Whats happening with yours?

Nothings wrong man. I guess it's just me. Just seems like if I touch it something breaks lol. Mama's not happy about it either lmao! It's weird.....I had a '07 Honda crf 450x I modified for high speed desert riding/racing never broke anything.

Every  bike I ever owned does that.  At least until the bowl runs dry or the fuel level falls enough.  BUT, on my 12 300 it was leaking much more.  I found that the petcock wasn't shutting all the way closed.  So I removed the fuel line and messed with it till I found where it really shut off.  Scratched a mark on the petcock and moved on..

I always run it out of fuel before trucking it. I truck in a hauler so I didn't like the gas on the floor.

You let the bike run dry with the fuel off? Starving the engine of oil/fuel is not a good idea...

I just throw some grip tape down on the floor of the trailer where leakage occurs..

I like that (above)

also could shut off the gas

an lay yer bike over on its side for a bit before loading it up...

or run it near dry...

Now who is goofy enough to leave there fuel valve on when not riding and especially during trainsport.[emoji848][emoji12]
