CRF150F won't idle

Recommended Posts

I have a 2003 or 2004 CRF150f. Bought it in Alaska, only rode a few times, been sitting in garage for 10 years, now in Virginia. New gas, oil, & clean carb. Takes a dozen kicks but can get it started. Without holding the throttle it dies. It will idle high with the choke on but that's it. Turned the screw 4 turns and still won't idle. Thoughts and ideas?

You said you cleaned the carb but did you clean the pilot jet?  Typically a bike will act like you've described when the pilot jet is clogged.  The pilot jet is the one that looks like a tiny piece of perforated pipe.  you should be able to see light through the length of the jet as well as through the perforations on the sides of the jet. If you have a set of carb cleaning wires, you should be able to run a small wire through the length of the jet.
