AIR/FUEL SCREW?

Recommended Posts

HAVE ANY OF YOU GUYS EVER HAVE YOUR AIR/FUEL MIXTURE SCREW VIBRATE OUT ON YOU? I WAS FIVE MILES INTO AN ENDURO IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ON SATURDAY AND THE BIKE STARTING BACKFIREING AND DIDN'T IDLE ANYMORE, SO I STOPPED AT A RESET TO ADJUST IT AND IT WAS NOT THERE ANYMORE. MAYBE I SHOULD ORDER EXTRAS AND KEEP IN MY FANNYPACK. DO YOU THINK THAT THERE WILL BE ANY MOTOR DAMAGE FROM SUCKING DUST OR I SHOULD HAVE NUTHING TO WORRY ABOUT SINCE I STOPPED.

I doubt it if you seriously hurt anything with dust. Most probable would be carb needs to be cleaned. Get the manual and make sure when you get your replacement pieces, you get them all. There is a little tiny flat washer that goes on top of the o ring on your fuel screw. My main concern would be: Why did it fall out in the first place? My guess is, you probably had it backed out to far to begin with, which leads me to think you might want to go up one size on your pilot jet and throttle it down with the screw.

Just my .02
