So this question is regarding an 03 yz450f when filling the oil do you fill it from the neck or from the case or both? I've heard conflicting stories, and do you do it when it's warm or cold or hot when my bike has been slightly warmed up and I'll pull the dipstick out oil is being pushed out through that opening. I need to know the exact in detail process to not only check the oil but to fill it properly how is this done?

Look at the common thread stickie on the top of this forum. There is a great write up in detail for that procedure.

Don't check while it's running and don't overfill.
