Grip too short for new throttle tube

So got new grip and decided to replace the throttle tube just received the throttle tube its closed end tube, Grip is really short on the tube

 

Here is a pic. Would it be safe to use like that ? or get a shorter tube of cut this tube to match length of grip

 

This is not my pic but its deff about the same amount of distance

When you put the tube in the throttle housing, that gap will dissapear

Have a look just a test fit you can see, Grip is on all the way

Probably to prevent your grip from catching on the housing.

If the throttle tube is "bottomed out" to the end of the handlebar, and both grips are the same length, then you should be fine

That is how the ODI lock in grips look normally, I have the same grip with throttle tube built in and once the throttle tube is actually installed in the housing it is perfect clearance.
