OK, long story short I killed my engine when it rain dry of oil. I know a 2006-2009 engine can be mounted but can I get a 2008 top end and piece it together to fit a bottom end from a 2006, or any year from 2006-2009.

It may be cheaper to just replace the parts that got mangled, but if I can match a top and bottom eBay is my friend.

Yup. It's basically the same engine.
Suspension changes and different mapping over the years

I wouldn't use the word MAP... It is carb'ed.. Lets try.. Ignition Curves ! :) Because it does have a Throttle Position Sensor to help the CDI with that :)

It's mapping either way, even if it's not re-writable.
