Come on Atlas

Recommended Posts

Been waiting for the new atlas guardian roost guard to go with my atlas neck brace i got for xmas. They advertised it coming out in the spring. Yet here we are well into summer and still no word as to whats going on. Still advertised on there website as being pre order only for spring 2016. When will we be seeing these guards available in stores or online not through pre order. Kind of annoying as i want to be able to use my neck brace, but dont want to buy another roost guard before the one i actually want comes out.

Have you tried calling them and asking?

Email I got from them today:

We share your frustration!  The design passed all CE testing at factory but we require third party testing and it's taken 2 try's to get it finally passed. It now in production. The product will be really good.

The current ship date to us is August 10 arriving August 28. We feel this is a good date.

Thank you for your business and let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Eddie Cole

Seeing as it looks like you directly quoted what they said, that grammar scares me lmao. Either somebody needs to go back to school or they outsource their email support to India or somewhere usual like that lol.

Anyways, I've been thinking about looking into neck braces and roost guards and all that kinda stuff, and was wondering what brands and models and stuff are a good place to start. Also, what are some good websites to look at other than Motorsport.com (love them) and BikeBandit.com (hate them.)?

BTO is my favorite, but RMATVMC is good, too.  I have experience with Leatt, A-Star, EVS and Atlas.  The new Atlas is by far my favorite neck brace.

LOL, yep, I noticed the grammar, too.  Spelling and grammar are becoming lost arts. ?

Ha!  I ended up buying a Defender for in the meantime.  I have communicated with Atlas on this, they have no firm date.

I have an Atlas Air neck brace and love it. But I have a Fox Raptor chest protector which I like because of the wrap around protection. Me as a beginner, I feel better with more protection around the vitals. However I don't care much for getting the neck brace under that chest protector. I put the neck brace on the chest protector and swing both over my head - this seems to be the easiest way. The other annoying thing about the Raptor is I think it is the cause of some snagging that happens on the inner arms of my shirt; I think this is happening from the velcro that is part of the straps.

So question, what's the protection like on the new Guardian? I was thinking of going to the Defender but was not too thrilled about giving up the wrap around protection. Also, is there velcro as part of the attachment straps?

It looks like a nice design but it doesn't look like it offers any rib protection and $269 is bit steep. Hopefully it will hit the market soon and we can get some reviews.

$169 for the Lite, the version that is just body protection.  That's the one that I'm interested in.  I already have TLD elbow protection that I really like, and I never saw much use to shoulder protection.
