2015 yz450 Front Brakes

Looking to make a change to my front brake since it doesn't seem to have much stoping power (big complaint with the bike from what I've read)

Does anyone have any setups that they really like? Pads, oversized rotor, etc

I run the pro taper oversized rotor and it helped a lot. Another trick that helps lever feel is the zip tie your lever to the grip overnight. It will have a more firm feel at the lever after that

I ditched the front brake system altogether and put on a 2014 CRF450R full system with a Galfer SS line and Galfer O/S rotor.  Brakes are very, very good now.

Tusk oversized rotor.  Big difference on my FX.

Tusk.
don't let the price or Brand name bother you..
every bit as good as the Motomaster rotor kit on my other bike.

No prob man, save the coin and get the tusk. I have a lot of stuff by them and it's all been great. Rocking there black tusk wheels as well on the FX.

Another vote for Tusk.

I fear if we keep spreading the word they'll raise the price.

I have a Tusk oversize rotor on my 14. Great price for a great set up. Still lacks the braking power of my 09 with a standard size tusk disk rotor.

Tusk disk rotors are the bomb.

There are different friction coefficients with different types of SS. Small, but noticeable difference.

The Yamaha MC is just lacking. Oversize rotor and replace the MC and you should be golden.

Take it in steps, do the rotor first and flush the brakes with a good DOT 4 fluid.
I also did the GYTR stainless cable, helped with feel a bit but not really worth the cost..

This... Do the tusk over sized rotor with some high temp maxima brake fluid. I doubt you will even see a need for the MC after getting a taste of that.

A CRF-R MC from '08+.  Any of them that have the pushrod from the lever to the piston.  If nothing else, the action of the lever is MUCH smoother and there's no grinding/binding like with the Yamaha lever.
