Camshaft Gear 2013 YZ450F problem

HI folks,

due a problem of compression the gear of the camshaft has rounded in the axle...and now is out of original position,

how can I turn to the original position and how this is position ?

You need to redegree the cam

If it actually is slipping though, you have much bigger problems

can you explain the redegree process ? I do not understand this expression....

how exactly did you determine the sprocket slipped on the cam ?   you sure your at the correct TDC (there are 2)

Degreeing a cam is not a job for a novice, even many 'pros' cannot do it. You need special tools and the ability to remove and reinstall the gear on the cam. Some big shops have a jig used to hold everything in alignment during the pressing process. Then they tack weld the gear to the shaft to keep it from moving again.

yep even hot cams screws em up sometimes
