New bike 2008 yz450f questions

1. I just changed the oil poured a whole quart in and its not registering on the dipstick
2. These things are noisier than normal 450s right i read that somewhere

If you poured the oil in and haven't started it, there isn't any oil where the dipstick is yet.  That's the problem.  It's a dry sump system.  Oil is kept in a tan or in this case, an internal reservoir that is separated from the actual crankcase.  The oil fill goes to the sump, and the dipstick is in the "tank", so after filling it, you need to run it for about 60 seconds, then shut it down, pull the stick and check. 

 

And yes, they normally sound like a pipefitter's convention.

So would it not show on the dipstick if it cooled down over night

Might not.  If the low pressure check valve leaks a little, the oil would tend to drain from the higher level in the internal reservoir to the lower level of the crankcase.  Oil level should be checked within one minute of shut down.
