Back when I wanted to buy an '06 for my son, the dealer two miles from me had a Hurricane Edition on the floor.  I asked the price, and was told "MSRP plus setup".  8 months later, when it was my turn, they had the same bike (they tried to tell me it wasn't, but I had logged the VIN the first time), and told me the same thing about the price.  They sold it for $4900 3 years later, after they paid floor taxes on the thing for all that time.

Some people.

Wait for the 2017 KTM. It could make some 450FX owners eager to sell their outdated tech - that is if you would accept a used one.

I do not like, Orange Eggs and Ham.

I will not eat them, Kran I am.

Yes, yes try them and you may see others selling their blue eggs and ham in favor of the 2017 orange eggs and ham.

I don't like soft off idle power, or WP suspension.

My last KTM was a 2013 it sucked on too many levels.

I have ridden the entire 2016 SXF product line and they were much better....and still come with peaky power and flexy forks and a 100 hour engine.

Listen it's a KTM so only time will tell if it's reliable or a un reliable P-O-S.

I poorly communicated earlier. :bonk: Meant to say allow the hype and hooplah to taint a FX owner to have him sell his FX in favor of the 17 KTM. This should put some nice used ones on the market and possibly soften sales of new ones enabling a better deal.

I'm in a bit of a bind and need some feedback.

I purchased a '16 yz450f set of graphics from Factory Effex for my '16 yz450fx. I have known that the radiator shrouds are a bit different but only knew that they added additional area up front to improve cooling at low speeds. When I went to match the graphics up it looks like they did much more than that to the shroud. On the FX shroud they have also cut material away from the bottom portion behind the radiators. Consequently the graphics don't fit. Modifying the graphics is out of the questions as I would have to cut right through the middle of all the logos.

So no problem, right? Just buy and "F" set of shrouds and be done with it. Perhaps take a hit on low speed cooling.

I was wondering if I the '15 250FX shrouds are like the "F" or like the "FX?" I was hoping to buy a whole new set of plastics at the same time.

Thanks.

Not sure if this helps, but I run 15' 250f shrouds on my 15' 250fx. They appear to be the exact same in shape and size to my FX shrouds. When I first saw a 16' I noticed that the shroud shape was a bit different up front when compared too my 15'.

Interesting, I took my brother's 2014 ktm 300 out for about 45m single track ride. One thing I noticed is I thought his set felt more comfortable then my 450fx.

...rode it around the  block, starting the break-in procedure....came home and put in on a charger (the dealer installed a teather).......which did not see the battery (no light) and I thought it won't start.....and I come to find out it just will not start in gear with the clutch out....which is fine, I guess....

Man, I have to disagree on that.  I smacked a good size stump pretty hard on mine last ride out, thought for sure the rim would be taco'd but it doesn't have so much as a wobble in it.  I was very impressed.
