BBR springs or other aftermarket springs will raise the bike about 2-3 inches. :)

Suspension links from BBR, then get the stiffer spring from BBR. I think Works connection is comming out with a shock!

The front throw in BBR suspension...

I used CR80 forks(whole front end) and rear shock. It will give that extra 2.5" you might want plus a much better ride. You need 1997+ used CR80/85 to work. You can either buy just what you need on e-bay or buy a whole bike and sell off what you don't. BBR and DMC use this on thier $7500-$11500 full race minis for adult riders. As your son gets bigger you can then get heavier springs and valving on this setup as needed for his weight and riding style. He may want to keep this bike a long time. :)

Awesome advice, thanks! if anyone else has input I'd appreciate it, but it sounds like he should have no trouble getting through a couple seasons!

Any idea if the forks/tripple clamp off a '89 CR80 will bolt up to a CRF150? Tried looking for bearings on dennis kirk to see if part no.'s matched, but nothing for these models. Don't care that they are not inverted.
Thanks for the info if you have any!

you are probably not gaining much by putting on 89' forks, stock is 84-86 cr 80 forks , that is where the crf's forks , brakes and wheel come from.

Hmmmm. What you can do, is find out what year people are using. Try and find out if the dimentions on the other one, are comparable to the one you are looking for,=.

Are you sure about that. I heard that only 96-current CR 80-85 front forks would fit the CRF150. Something to do with the bolt length of the Triple clamps. Also, the technology in the newer models has been improved.

PRC sells a 2" taller seat foam for the 150 and 230 for about $80. It is a stiffer foam than stock.

I called PRC several months ago because I wanted to raise the seat on my son's 230. They told me it would also fit the 230. I choose to not get it because my son wants a softer seat since we do mostly recreational trail riding and his butt gets pretty sore after a long ride. This seat is stiffer than stock.

You might want to give them a call and double check.
