It's heavy. The power is soaked up by its weight. I rode a mates 2016 ktm six days 500 exc today after riding my Drz-E all day and thought it was like a 50hp electric pushbike. I realised how f'n heavy the Drz is.

For the record, yeah the DR-Z is not a lightweight bike ... but it also feels heavier than it needs to, with the stock suspension (springs and valving). As the weight is bobbing. Not meant as an answer to you jas6395, just as a stepping stone in my eternal crusade against needless wallowing ?

DRZ400 too much power. mine was my first bike. and it gets better with upgrades.

Was looking for a 250/300 for my son, settled on a KLX300.  Like the lighter weight and agility, miss the DRZ torque.   Hooli Mod'd both bikes, the KLX300 will edge out the DRZ in Motogymkhana.
