Just wondering what you guys think just from these pics. If they are clear enough. I personally think that as long as it is still within spec, a little honing and it will be good.......

But, I just wanted some more experienced people to chime in and voice their opinion................

Ok, the vertical marks are oil, just incase you thought it was scarring.

So..........replate? Or new cylinder?

The dent in the top doesn't look like oil.

Looks like a good core. New cylinder or replate. Take ur pick. Shop around sometimes if one of the various replating companies gets an overstock on a particular cylinder you can get a deal. Of course usually if there's an overstock you won't get as much for ur core

Ok, since I didn't think the cylinder was that bad (minus not seeing the dent), what should the cam journals and where the cam rides in the journals look like???
I will post pictures later.

i would mic the cams and compare it to the specs. That intake cam journal concerns me. I just put a used 02 head on my 01 and it did not have any where near the wear you have.
