It can definitely run our Squadron Pro!  We are actually working on producing a few Dual Sport Kits for the YZ450FX.  See below:

2010-15 w/ Halogen Light

http://www.bajadesig...Efi-Yz450f-1015

2016 w/ Halogen Light

 http://www.bajadesig...250fxyz450fx-16

2016 w/ XL Pro (Pre-Order)

http://www.bajadesig...250fxyz450fx-16

If you are looking to run a simple On/OFF LED Light and Tail, we have this harness:

http://www.bajadesig...and-Yz450f-14on

+ EFI Taillight:

http://www.bajadesig...-Dual-Sport-Kit

+ The desired LED Light of your choice.  (Squadron Sport, Squadron Pro, S2 Pro)

Thanks for the info. Haven't got a 450FX yet, but what lighting I can run is a consideration if I get one or not. Was more looking at what I could run race light wise. I currently own one of your 8" HID dual race lights, was curious if it made enough power to run those. Although I have owed the dual HID's for about a decade, figure it might me time to upgrade to dual 40 watt LED's. Would like to know if a 450FX could power those.

Thanks,

Doug

Thanks. I saw your other post to about 100 watts available for lights. Nothing personal, but not knowing your background or how you determined this, I would like to confirm your answer with Baja Designs. I have been dealing with Baja Designs now for about 15 years, and since I will be running their lights, I would just like their input as to what a YZ450FX can power.

Thanks,

Doug

The YZ450FX is in fact capable of doing what Monk says it can. Common knowledge at this point.

Lol, ok...

Nothing personal but why ask in a public forum then? Would have been just as easy to call them yourself and ask right?

Pretty sure Baja Designs started this thread, so technically, I am asking them. Plus, I am at work when they are open, a little difficult to call, so it is easier to ask here. Plus, I don't even own a 450FX yet, figure I would just ask in the thread they started since I am in no hurry for the answer.

Picking up a 450FX today. Does the full wattage go to charging the battery or does it have a separate lead for installing a headlight? I have an 8" HID race light that I would like to use, just trying to determine if I have to do any wiring mods to run it without killing the battery.

Devin here with Baja Designs. The full wattage of the stator will go to the battery. So in order to run that 8" HID you will just have to get yourself a harness and route it to the battery! If you do not not have a switch on the light already, we have a harness that comes with all the connections you need with a handle bar mounted on and off switch.

I just received my wiring harness today from you guys for my 2014 yz450f. I never bought the head light because I already had a small light bar at my house and I wanted to mount the light higher up.

I thought that the power plug was supposed to plug into where the tuner plugs in? If so the one I received wont plug into it (unless the plastic with the green part comes off). Or if this is not the place it plugs in where do it plug in and what is the other big white plug for?

The instructions it came with don't show it too well but I couldn't find the plug on the right side by the radiator? Any help would be greatImageUploadedByThumper Talk1462841191.458919.jpg

Are one of these plugs supposed to be utilized?

Check the capacitor plug under the seat, that should be where you tap in. If Baja designs didn't update the harness from the '10-13 models you'll also have to lengthen it. I had to when I carried over the harness from my 2012 to my 2014. When I did that I made sure to call and inform them of the change, hopefully they've fixed it by now as it's been over 2 years.

You'll see when you get into it. The Baja designs harness parallels into the capacitor.

Okay, so I found the capacitor. I'm still confused tho because if I unplug it and plug the wiring harness in then there will still be a plug not plugged in from the capacitor/ ecu?

ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1462874985.950475.jpg

And where does the black plug plug in?

The two white plugs of your Baja design harness plug into the capacitor and your bikes harness. The black plug would go into your headlight. If you're using a different headlight just cut the plug off and connect it however you see fit. See, simple!

Ahh, that makes more sense! Thank you sir. I just assumed the black plug was for plugging in for power. I do not have it routed yet but it does seem like it will be long enough.

Is anyone able to post a couple night time pics with their squadron light on their yz450f? Just wondering what it is like? Considering getting one now

Your welcome! I have the original squadron on my bike and it's absolutely incredible! Sorry I don't have any pics of it right now. You should look up Monk's thread, he's got a bunch of pictures of his set up.

Trust me when I say that this picture does not do this light justice.
