There was a LED headlight thread a few months ago but seems good to summarize the findings here....

This is the LED light that Cyclops is selling for $65...

I was skeptical of fans in my light bulbs but so far no issues.

If you don't like active cooling in a light bulb, here are a couple options:

http://www.aliexpres...2393818432.html

Since the bulbs are coming from China anyway why not pay ~$24 each instead of $60+

I have ordered the bulbs in all three links (I have nine WRs) and all of them delivery was fast and reliable, the units are high quality (the first link is the
exact bulb cyclops is selling) and insanely bright while consuming a fraction of the power of a regular bulb. Have been using them for a few months
now and no issues.

Considering a high-end H4 halogen bulb can set you back $15-20 going LED is a no-brainer, especially when it can fit into the stock reflector.

I liked this post because you said you have nine WRs. I'm curious as to why you have so many of the same machine, besides the fact that they're so amazing. What is each bike's purpose, if you will?

Obviously 1 for everyday during the week and 2 for each day of the weekend..... :DUH: ;)

Found some suggested map settings from Yamaha. Might do some testing tomorrow.                                    https://www.shopyama...rt.pdf?sfvrsn=2

Nice video....I would think you would probably need more light if you didn't know the trail.

Looks like fun! Might have to consider lights like this to extend our riding season into the summer.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I agree about the light, and needing more for more extreme measures. I know the trail very well so it helps me out. The video doesn't do much justice but it is brighter then what you see. I have a bigger setup that's more race oriented but it also cost me $1250 vs $60. The Cyclops LED is more then adequate to get you out of the bush when the sun goes down...

Who makes the other setup you have (second video)?

I can definitely see the positives of the $60 version!

Cheers.

I don't think so. I've heard the new WR's are DC to the head light.

Straight up: how much better is the 2016 than the 2012-2015 ?  Engine, suspension, handling ?  Does the 2016 feel lighter ?  Is it stable ?

These are 3200 lumens.  They work great.   Good distance and width.  No cooling problems, but I don't ride in the desert either.

I use the spot models.   The trails I ride are only 3 feet wide.  There is a turn every 50 feet.   It works great.

Weighs 1 pound with the mount.

pic of the mount?

thanks

I threw this this on the bike quickly one night before a ride the next morning.   It isn't pretty, but it works.

FYI, that is a YZ triple clamp, not a WR triple clamp.

That is a YZ triple clamp, not a WR triple clamp.  The WR TC doesn't have a mount in the center.  It has 2, one on either side, by the fork tubes.

Anyone have a skidplate recommendation for the '16 WR?

Upgrading from a 08 and the new bike arrives this week but a number of the aftermarket folks don't have a listing for the new WR.

I'll remove the peashooter and the throttle stop along with the other free mods and then start with a Rekluse and go from there.

I believe only Enduro engineering has one listed. I am using their radiator braces.
