Hey guys I'm having a little problem here with hiflo oil filters.
I recently got a 2009 yz450 oil filter part number (5D3-13440-00-00)

And my buddy has a 2013 yz450 oil filter part number (5D3-13440-01-00).
My confusion comes when after researching it says the hiflo hf140 replaces both of these. Is this correct?

So he give me one of his filters as he buys in bulk and it was shorter than the one I took out and even when trying to put back in the oil one just as it check the old oil filter was pushing the cap out a bit to far.(in assuming this is how it suppose to be so when you tighten to bolts then it draws everything together?)

I've change filters on man bikes before.
