wr450 "supermoto"?

So I like the "Supermoto" style bike and I I'm interested in the wr450 can u buy it from the dealer with signals and horn and all that jazz or is there a kit I have to get

Go to your dealer and ask

Will not come that way from the factory

Well yes you can get a street legal model ready to go from the dealer.

Wait for it.........

But only if you live in Australia.

Otherwise you need to do some research on street legalizing it and buying a dual sport light kit.

baja designs makes kits. Pretty expensive ($375-$500), but gives you everything you need. I bought my bike used and everything was already done from the 1st owner and the 2nd owner modernized everything :)

I used oem yamaha r6 switches and a 07 r6 radial master cyl on mine that came with a brake pressure switch. I just bought my signals off ebay. The wr tail light is pre wired for a brake function and the stock headlight is capable of running a dual filament hi\low bulb. Just have to add an extra wire to each.
The first wr i converted was for a buddy of mine. He bought the ryco moto dual sport conversion kit for somewhere around $3-400-. It had cheap china handlebar switches, brake switch and a chincy $1 ebay mirror.
After seeing how simple it was i opted to build mine.
Its pretty simple really, i helped a guy out west who is a fellow member on supermotonunkie do his bike- pretty much by text messaging back and forth.

Thats a nice steel frame wr. I always liked white fenders with the blue tank\shrouds.
Heres my old wr. It was an 03 model with yz plastic and seat. Had close to 60 hp. Really wish i still had it.

I put a Baja designs kit on mine too. It's good quality. If you buy on Amazon from a vendor it's way cheaper by $100 +. On my 2015' the kit was 99% all plug and play ready to go (these newer ones come street legal in other countries and are left set up ready to go) Drilled some holes in the rear fender to mount the new taillight and plate mount and replaced the rear brake line banjo bolt with one that's pressure activated and has two wires coming out so the brake light comes on and off when applied. I did it within a couple hours doing it slowly reading the instructions step by step and I've never installed anything like this befor and it came out perfect.

The big brakes you see are 320mm rotor kits. You get a caliper relocation bracket to space it out to fit a larger rotor wich is good for street riding.

But like mentioned check your state laws, hit up supermoto junkies. Some states they don't care to convert dirtbikes, some don't allow it but there's loop holes to get by. So it's hit or miss depending where you live and how your DMV is.

The pic of the steel frame bike i posted is a 2003 model.
The front brakes are all aftermarket. The rear rotor which is a wave was on the bike when i bought it. My 07 has a wave on the rear as well.

I converted my WR400 to street legal using the TUSK kit.. almost the same as the Baja kit but much cheaper.  It's sold by Rocky Mountain ATV.

Here it has everything except the headlight for under $200, and most of our bikes don't need a new headlight.  

You can also buy all of the pieces and parts individually which is nice if you're putting your own together, or already have some of the parts.

What kind of riding do you intend to do with it?

If you are really going to race it the 450 is great.

But if you want a tolerable/everyday/commuter road bike I would suggest a bigger single.

Like a XR650R or a like size KTM. 

I had a 97 KTM 620 RXC that I motarded and it was a great bike.
