Gytr tuner

Recommended Posts

Quick question, I recently purchased a 2015 yz450f, I had a 2012 450 and used the gytr turner #33D-H59C0-V0. I have looked on the yamaha site and there appears to be a newer version of this turner #33D-H59C0-V1-00. Can I used my current turner on my 2015 or and I out another 250 bucks

I have the original power tuner but had problems getting it to work with the new 2016 YZ450FX (worked fine with my 2010 YZ450F). I also noted that the part number shown on Rocky Mountain's web site was different from the one I'd had for years. I ordered the new one, thinking it might be updated for the newest bike. Turns out that on the back of the new tuner it showed the same part number as the old power tuner so there were no differences or updates between the two. Also, the new one had the same communication problem as the old tuner.

Based on another post on thumpertalk, it appears that you need to briefly hit the starter button (no need to start the bike) before connecting the power tuner to the YZ450FX or it won't communicate with the bike's ECU. The old power tuner now works fine.

Interesting, mine is the 15 yz450f so i don't have the starter button. But after hearing it would work I went ahead and plugged it in and changed the map seems to be running fine. The monitoring mode also works fine. I just use the ones on the yam Web page they seem to work fine in the past and feel great now. I don't ride ridiculously fast but can feel a big difference on the bottom end after the full fmf 4.1 system w/ sa installed compared to stock. On the old yz I had a dr.d and this fmf systems sounds amazing and has great gitty up from the bottom pulling out of turns. Smooth as silk. I was fortunate to pick up a full titanium fmf 4.1 system on ebay for 525 new in the box.
