I need 100 mile range on my 2013 wr450

Not racing, just casual trail and gravel road stuff.

I doubt the little IMS will work, but you never know until you ask. What do you recommend for getting 100 miles?

I run a Clarke 3.3 on an 08 and a 3.1 ims on my 2012. I get get over 100 miles with each of them all depends on gearing and how much throttle but I easily get 100 miles with about half a gallon left

I'm not sure what stock is but I believe it's 13 and 50. If so you have a lot higher gearing than mine. Hmmm, I may may get as good of mileage as you.

What range do you currently get. Use that as a multiplier to determine the size of tank you need.  I could run out of gas in 50 km's or 130 km's depending on the trails I do.

Not stock (13-50), but closer than 14-48;  I run 14-50 on my 2014 with an IMS tank, and I get 100 miles w/o hitting reserve with similar riding open trails/desert.

Thanks all. Can you get to the radiator cap easy on the IMS 3 gallon? I hate dropping the coin on something I only need maybe once every 2-3 years...

I can only get about 90 miles on my 3 gal IMS.

This sounds similar (in mpg) to what I get on my stock tank, maybe even a little better.  I have no choice but to go with the Clarke 4 gal when I upgrade because 90 is not going to cut it.

An update.  Did a 26 mile night ride with my son in the desert a while back.  When I filled the tank up yesterday it took 1.1 gal all the way up to the filler neck (as it was before the ride).  That's not even 24 mpg.  Last night, we did another night ride and the low fuel light came on somewhere between 32 and 34 miles on the stock tank.  We had a way to go to get back to the truck, but made it, total of 43 miles.  Have not measured how much it takes to fill, but imagine it will be similar to before.  My son is only 14 and I lose him fairly quickly so I've been just putting, literally staying under 1/4 throttle.  Not making that many stops.  I just don't get why the mileage is so sucky on this bike.

Uncorked

stock air filter

Powercore 4 slip on

Current map

 Fuel                   Ig

  0 0 0             0 0 0

+2 0 0            -1 0 0

+4 0 0            -3 0 0

It runs fantastic with a smoother spool up that really helps on rocks and starts well.  I guess I'll need to go back to all zeros for fuel (stock) to see if the mileage will increase at all, but can't see it making that much of a difference.  Going to go with the Clarke tank as it holds 4 gals.  Anyone have this tank yet to advise fit and finish?  The Clarke on my '08 was great, but the plastic a little thin.  This one wraps around the radiators so I would hope it was a little thicker.

I would also like to know about the 4.1 tank.
