Plating KTM 500 XCW in Kansas

Just passing it on.....plated it yesterday and they never even looked at the bike. Just took them forever to get it processed but absolutely nothing involving the bike

Did you look closely at certificate of origination to see if it said anything about "off-road only"?

My 09 450 xcw came with a title that looked like a car title. Walked it right through just like a car.

The MSO certificate did not say anything either way as to road vs off road.

Same in Tn. Dealer did all the work. I left with a temp tag. I got everything in the mail in a week! Plus I got mine new for $7600 ?. California guys beating their heads against the wall...

Not really, it's a $400 effort to get a CA plate. No wall banging required.

So here is the deal......  KTM was smart and used 17 digits in there VIN number not 16 like 99% of Japanese bikes, and i guarantee you every KTM out there has a 0 for the 8th digit.. (feel free to check yourself) that's what makes them road legal. it lets the government know its a dual purpose bike.  Its all in the VIN number, not the model of bike... You can even Blue plate a 2 smoker if you wanted too.
