Total loss battery, no charging system.  It's the only practical way.  No one makes a reliable lighting equipped stator for the bike, so don't waste time trying to find one.

Total loss is the way to go.  You can power a 40w led H4 bulb with a $36  20,000mah lithium battery for around 5 hours and have excellent light depending on the headlight you use.  With a Baja Designs standard headlight, you can do it all for under $170 and be real happy with the result.
