i just picked this bike up on a trade for a 1988 LT250R, it started right up for the guy i traded with, when i got home it wouldnt start. the guy said it may have some carb issues if that is any help, he claimed that he just put a rebuild kit into the carb but i guess it didnt work. it will backfire but not start. it kicks over but it might not have enough fuel to continue, any suggestions would be much appreciated. thank you -Ryan

Assuming that you have spark, it's almost always a problem with a plugged pilot jet, or varnish around the tip of the pilot screw.

Bad gas and/or a fouled plug are your two next suspects
