Kx250f big problems please help

Recommended Posts

I bought a 07 kx250f. When we got it it only ran when you pop/bump started it. The guy told me it was because the values needed to be re shimmed. after we checked the clearance, the values did not need to be re shimmed. and it still only ran when you pop/bump started it. I pulled the head off to look at the values, the seals where bad and needed to be re-cut. so while i was down their i checked the piston and cylinder. it turns out the piston went and needed a new one. The cylinder is ok it only has one little score but not enough to cause any real grief or performance loss. after we get the new piston rings and everything back into the cylinder and the head back on with the new value seals and put it all back together . i go to start it up and begin a break in process because of the new piston. and miraculously, it still does not start. it doesint even sound like it wants to start. so we push it and, it starts up right away when we pop start it. and its not electrical because we have a new stator and coil in it. i have cleaned the carb multiple times and im just down right baffled and confused. If anyone knows anything or could help please do respond because im going no where with this bike.

Now a day later after running the bike off of bump starting it, i can now get the bike to start up when i kick it. Great! now on the next problem it has a weird vibrate noise. sounds like it could be from the front of the bike somewhere. ive onced over the whole bike to make sure it is all tight. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!!

Try this in this order

turn the fuel tap on

Lie the bike to the side and watch till the fuel comes out the carb overflow pipe

Lift it up

Pull the choke know out

Turn the throttle full open twice at medium speed

Dont touch anything else and kick with a full kicks , not fast short kicks.

Didnt say "hold" said "turn" .

Open the throttle to full throttle and let it go and do it again , medium speed is about 1 second from closed to full open .

This is so the accelerator pump can pump 2 squirts of fuel into the cylinder.

I have not been on this in a while. But since all of this i traded the kx250f for a yz125. great, great decision
