The great Christophe Pourcel takes you on a lap around redbud and breaks it down for you simpletons

I was expecting a pass but then I remembered he couldn't pass any the top guys.

Competition is heated on press day? He's riding behind his teammate and friend Anderson, it'd be kind of a dick move to just blow past the guy for no reason while filming a track tour video and roost him or get close enough to Anderson that roost got on the helmet camera....it's PRESS DAY!!

If any rider gets landed on it's most likely over haha if Pourcel finds it in his will to really want to do well in SX he can, i don't think a SX title here would mean nearly as much to him as a MXGP 450 title would. If I were to guess, he'll do two years in the GP's after this year in the US. So catch a glimpse of the odd Frenchman before he disappears....again.

My thoughts are based on his current bulk. He looks so skinny one small mishap could really damage him physically. I thought if He wanted to go to europe for gp in his current state he would end up like the rest, all banged up! If He waits and gets endurance plus strength trains for next season I can see him doing very good with confidence. He seems very small now. I am surprised he has the strength to ride for both moto. But proven He can. Just durability seems like the question.

Small tip overs can sometimes be season ending , while giant highlight reel crashes they walk away. Injuries and crashes are very unpredictable regardless of the riders build, size, fitness, etc... seems more to do with luck than anything .

Pourcel is a flash in the pan. I'm predicting a 5-9 in Michigan. Nothing to see here.

You got some good points, it is odd how skinny he is, he's actually pretty tall when you see him off the bike though. I've never ever seen him eat between motos or shortly before, only very early in the morning. He doesn't sit in that ice bath thing anymore though, at least I haven't seen it.  It's also odd how he doesn't wear a neck brace, probably because of the restricted mobility, but you'd think he of all people would wear one. Although the damage to his spine happened in his lower back, so his neck doesn't have any scar tissue that would make it more vulnerable. Just watching when he is riding it's pretty odd how skinny he is, and I have a pretty good idea that he has been working with Aldon Baker, there was a picture of Marvin and him riding at CP's house after Budds Creek, and you could see Pourcel talking to Baker in the foreground, he was riding at Baker's house/compound that week too. He crashed pretty bad at Red Bud on the downhill last year and somersaulted a few times and seemed fine after, also Webb ran into him in the air in Utah and he fell pretty bad there too, he was fine but just not in a big hurry to get back on the bike haha. It kind of does seem like he's made of glass or something haha he's not but just the way he rides seems so delicate i guess is the English word haha.

If you notice he always keeps his lower back straight and pushes himself straight with the bars, even when he's seat bouncing or scrubbing. He does that because of the internal damage and scar tissue in his lower back causes him severe cramps if he hunches over like other guys can. Like watch this weekend in the whoops at Red Bud, other guys will actually sit down at points through them in order to like seat bounce, especially the 250 guys like last year, same thing at Millville in those whoops. Whereas Pourcel stands up the whole way and pulls the front end up high, another effort to take impact off his back, no doubt it slows him up a bit...

Going through a high speed corner he keeps his back completely straight, obviously he can't be perfectly straight all the time but he does make an obvious effort to stay straight.

That's what RV thought too.

Circumstances are a little different haha, one rider has won races in the series he would be competing in, and the other rider (RV) hadn't even competed in it to begin with. Who knows what happened to RV, if he doesn't want to race a dirt bike at all anymore then I don't think it's so bad if he doesn't. The guy is spent.

DV says:"The next couple races, Red Bud and Millville, will be a good test for us to see if CP can confirm he’s good form. Those tracks in normal conditions with the heat and the fact you have to “go for it” aren’t supposed to be what Christophe likes nor performs well at. I guess we will see."

If Aldon is just pushing his endurance he is doing the right thing. His endurance isn't comparable to others yet. Strength follows all that training so if it is being put in, He Will be stronger regardless. I'm glad your so reasonable Mord! The other cp fan isnt...
