Sparkplug

Recommended Posts

The electrode looks about the right color brown.  But the center electrode is blocked in the picture.  The end of the threaded part looks too rich.  Hard to tell much from spark plugs if they've been in for a while and the bike has been run in different ranges of throttle.

But we can tell that you're married, need some serious hand cleaner and you cut or bite your nails really short.

You read the plug at the BOTTOM of the insulator, not the top.....but unless you use race gas, the colors have little meaning due to extensive additives in pump gas

Mostly due to the lack of lead, but true.  Also, as flyandride alluded to, Spark plug color doesn't really mean anything about jetting unless the plug was run in one throttle range for a period and then shut down prior to reading.

What you can tell from a plug pulled after an extended period of operation is whether the heat range is right, how good the ignition quality is, and whether the engine is burning oil excessively.  Can't see enough of the insulator to tell that from your picture, though.
