With the crank I at the correct mark thats how the lobes sit in the pic above, also the inlet (wr cam) punch is just below and the exhaust cam(YZ cam) is above

ah ok rite if the exhaust cam punch mark is totally level I timing mark through the hole cant see it but the inlet cam punch is at sea level too then. I think i may take both cams out and start all over again with my finger push in the tensioner hole this time

Yeah, if you can't even see the timing mark the chain must have jumped a tooth. Have to start over with it at TDC.
