Is 10 w 50 ok to run in my 2009 yz 450?

I know some people run 10w40 but my store carries a lot of 10w50. Is it fine to run that?

Yes no problem I run 10/50 oct-april then switch to 10/60 in the summer.

SAE 60 is too heavy under any circumstance. 

 

SAE 50 is usable where temperatures don't drop below 70 ℉.  SAE 40 is good all the way up to 114 ℉.  There is a chart in the manual.
