Jd Jetting settings

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if the JD Jetting and EJK are exactly the same. I have the JD Jetting and the instructions say 3 3 3 is stock and if you go lower it will run leaner. I didn't think the tuners would make the crf run leaner. I know the EJK does not work this way. I plan to use the EJK settings 1.5 2.5 4.5.

Are you sure they don't mean leaner than the recommended setting of 333.

When they say leaner, I interpret that as leaner than rich as hell. They generaly don't make the bike run leaner they just add fuel on top of the base map.

According to the instructions if you run 3 3 3 it will be the same as stock map settings. They recommend 4.5 5 3 4.5 4 4.5 I thought all these controllers where made by the same company and identical. I planned to run the settings you recommended 1.5 2.5 4.5 but if my directions are correct I will be leaner and I dang sure don't want that.

I just got on the Internet and bought the first one that came up JD Jetting. It looks the same as EJK and Everyone I talked to said the where the same but if these instructions are correct they are anything but the same. According to these instructions this tuner has the ability to make the bike map leaner, any number under 3 makes the bike leaner than stock. I hope this is not the case.

Dobeck can program the controller anyway the reseller wants it.

If you have the EJK no point reading the JD Jetting instructions. You need to read the information from the EJK website.

The bike has been on the dyno the bike definitely does not run lean.

Ok this might get a little confusing but here it goes. I called JD Jetting and they are not the same tuner as EJK. He said they are not even made by the same company. The JD Jetting 3 3 3 is stock. If you go any number under 3 you make the bike leaner than the factory fuel map. He said they have done testing Ina dyno and 4.5 5 3 are the best setting. I understand the 4.5 because that would be a 1.5 green on an EJK 5.0 would be a 2.0 on an EJK I can get that it's not but .5 off the yellow setting for EJK. But the 3 red just does not make cents. Basically he said the red zone does not need anymore fuel than the stock map. I find that hard to believe.

Really depends on the mods you have done.

The EJK runs ridiculously rich. Don't assume +1 increment on JD Jetting is the same as +1 increment on EJK.

JD Jetting have been doing tuning mods of all types for a long time and have their own dyno.

JD Jetting may have indeed come up with better suggested settings than EJK.

I would tend to believe what JD Jetting have to say.

Ask them if they have any published dyno runs with their tuner? And supply info on airbox mods they did?

It sounds just like a Dobeck EJK 3.5 would function to me.  :excuseme:   Looks the same too...

The EJK+ is the next generation beyond it with closed loop and a wideband O2 sensor.

Dobeck chose not to release an EGK 3.5 for the CRF250L since there is no need to be able to lean the mixture out.  The standard model is an EJK 3.0.

The guy at JD Jetting said that their test bike did have a modded air box and aftermarket free flow exhaust. He basically said It is set perfect just like it is and I should plug it up, stop b^*ching, and ride like hell. So I guess that's what I will do.

Sounds like customer service at it's finest.   ?   I wonder why they made it adjustable if that's the case...   :excuseme:

I don't think you were bitchin. In my opinion you were just trying to understand the product you purchased.

Yeah just ride it mate. I reckon they got it right.

Ok. Got home from work and installed the JD Jetting tuner. I left it set 4.5 5 3 4.5 4 4.5 and just took off no warm up at all. Really didn't feel much difference, no where near the difference the 13 front sprocket made. After about 5 miles of riding it hard it became somewhat stronger. I tried 4.5 5.5 6.5 and I thought it was better but after changing it back I didn't notice a difference. I tried the EJK setting 1.5 2.5 4.5 for about a mile but I was scared to run it lean and still did not notice much difference.

I have 1000 miles on my bike with a 13 front, 2 1/2 in snorkel, backfire screen removed, and a Yoshimora slipon. My top speed has been 77 one time 72to74 most of the time and sometimes as low as 70. My bike feels really strong sometimes and just ok others. With the JD Jetting I believe it is stronger but not as strong as I was expecting. Maybe I just expect to much from a 250cc with a 6'1 200 pound rider.
