Clutch cable adjustment

Kinda newbie quiestion. Seem to be going through clutch cables pretty fast..06 yz250, What is the proper way to install this cable as far as the two adjusters go? I turned the little adjuster on the cable out so there are more threads showing now (used the old cable as reference), then turned the perch adjuster to where it felt good. Just wonder if there is a preffered way to do this?

Thats how you adjust them, but your adjustment has nothing to do with why your going through clutch cables

Thanks, didnt seem like there was anything special to do. Is there something else I should be looking at? All the perch hardware, lever, adjuster, etc is new oem yamaha.
