I think you will find the difference with the USA E's, wont be in the exhaust but in the carburetor.

Some of the locals should be able to confirm that.

Thanks for your help,

Craigo, the reason for trying to find one from the US is that is far cheaper than to buy one from here.

This is the pipe i'm looking at     http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FMF-Powercore-4-Slip-On-Exhaust-Anodized-Aluminum-Fits-Suzuki-DR-Z400E-06-07-/331430906942?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d2ad24c3e

Can anybody confirm this will fit an Aussie E model, it say 06-07 models so it makes me wonder what the differences are between year models

Brentos , I would say no , definately to late a model fitment , it needs to be an early model , as early as possible . The mid pipe should be the same size as the muffler , you can see this one gets larger as it nears the muffler . So it has a narrow mid pipe which would be to small for your header . But it may just be a picture for reference , greg

Nah i'm looking for a slipon but I'm trying to find out if the head pipe is the same as the aussie E.

They are selling slip on pipes for different year model E's so i'm assuming there is a difference somewhere, possibly the head pipe.

A little bit of research revels that the Australian E and the USA E use the same header pipe, all years from 2000 to 2007 in USA  and 2000 till 2009 which would include the current model in Australia as it has not changed.

https://www.thumpertalk.com/shop/oem.php?partcategory=800504&manufacturer=5&category=5&year=2000&model=27390

http://www.bluecitymotorcycles.com.au/suzuki_search.php

Muffler's on the other hand revel a different part number between Australia and USA, I'm guessing this would be more to do with the end cap than the mounting point or link pipe diameter.

So I would suggest any pipe/muffler designated for a E will fit your 2013 Australian real E.

Hey Craigo are 100% on that part number fitting the Aussie E as the part no. Seems to be for the S.

And did it fit up without any probs or mods?

Well that's the number stamped on the genuine FMF box the pipe came in... ? ...also came with a step down spacer so it could be used with a stock S head pipe...

No probs , bolted straight up to E mid pipe mount

Hey Craigo, one last question, do you remember if the description for you pipe stated if it suited the E model as well? As some say fits the e model and some say only for the S.

Just want to make the right choice, if I buy and gets here and doesn't fit, I'll p!ssed

Cheers

OK, so after all my confusion, the FMF pipe was just getting to expensive with the dollar continually falling against the US, so i ended up going with the DG O series pipe from Maxwell Motorsports in Finley NSW.

I had read some bad press on this mob but decided to give them ago, ordered pipe on the Thursday and was installed on my bike the following Tuesday night, perfect fit and sounds great.

Now next question is should i rejet, my local suzuki dealer thinks i should go up to a 168 MJ from the stock 165.

any opinions?

The bike seems to be running OK, no popping on the back off or anything, but im not 100% convinced.

Any way here's a pic of my bike.

A 165 mj is too big already..I think Suzuki do this to help compensate for a lean needle setting...

Use a 160 mj......

Pull the air box snorkel

With stock OBDXP needle . use clipicon1.png #5 (from top)

Keihin OCEMN is the better performance needle, but your fuel economy will drop...
