Wheelbase = 58.3" according to the specs...

Are you looking for wheelbase or end to end length?

distance between contact (to ground) of front and rear tire.
I was looking @ harbor freight site @ trailers. looking @ 3.3 x 4' 860# cap trailer. $160. they also sell a rail kit for $50. This should be enough `for one or two bikes. Does tire size matter? 8'' vs 12''

Yes, go with the 12's. The 8" are spinning way too fast at hwy speeds for my taste. The 12's will also ride smoother. :)
