No hot start pull

Will the bike start even if you don't pull the hot lever?

If so will it just be harder to start?

It may or it may not, depending on conditions in the engine.  What the hot start does is to add additional air into the intake to counteract the tendency for a hot four stroke to be flooded by a tip-over or whatever.  you can get the same effect by cracking the throttle open about 1/8 to 1/4, but it requires less concentration and precision to use the hot start.
