Hi all,

Ive recently bought indicators/electronic dash etc for my 99 wr, However before fitting i have found my bike has the 55watt stator.

What stator is a direct swap in to get more watts? ive found an old old thread mentioning its a straight swap from the 00/02 wr426. but cant find any more information confirming this.

I contacted a local (UK) company to re-wind my stator, but they suggested they would only get upto 20% improvement over the stock 55 watts, so 11 extra.

sadly this wont cut it, so i would appreciate any help

I belive this is what i need?

Required part number - "5ng-85560-00"

Current part number - "5bg-85560-00"

Thanks

Ross.

I'm also curious whether the stock 2000-2002 wr426 stator will drop right into a 98-99 wr400???

According to this chart:
http://www.bajadesig...reference-chart
The 98-99 outputs 85 watts and the 2000-2002 outputs 135??? Both of these numbers seem really high to me, but if the 2000-2002 stator outputs even a little bit more and it is an easy drop in I would love to get as much watts as I could.

Both models stator put out about 100 watts. The chart you mentioned has some very inaccurate ratings on it.

Thanks for the heads up! Yeah I'm a little saddened by the lack of options for high output 99-02 wr stators... I guess e-line used to make that big one that you used the case spacer to clear but worked well... Why can't we have more options lol. I would just like to have my lights be brighter at lower rpms. I'm not to keen on forking out the big bucks for helmet light and battery packs.
