I think it's a 25h. We got our bikes on the same day at the same place and I guess we're doing the same thing. Haha. Yamamhadude. I won't be going out this weekend but I will be removing that screw and adding the computer on Monday. I bought the yamaha tuner if you need to program your let me know....

Have fun this weekend

Thanks! So maybe a 25h? I also noticed that it has that stupid safety pin in it. I will wait a few rides after it's broken in before I mess with the program stuff. Man, with that rain we gat this week, how could u not go to the desert!?!?! I'd say I'll leave u some fresh desert cake for ya, but that's probably not going to happen ?

Yea the "h" in 25h means saftey pin. Leave some fresh desert for me. Haha

I'm torn on the whole break in thing. I kinda believe to break it in properly you need to have it opened up. Feel like you will only break in a very small portion of the motor. They way it sits new it has like 18hp and after opening it up it will have at least 40hp if not more. I will be gental on mine but an 1/4 turn on the throttle just doesn't cut it with me.

Good times..     Did you get that hot dog at the cart on Smokey Bear?     Glad you had fun..

A couple of my friends talked me into a quick ride by my house..    Here is a thread I started from my first ride  https://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/1114626-first-ride-on-new-2014-450/

i can't go on Saturday,  i have to work early morning then my kid has a christmas play...   Thanks for the invite.   We will hook up and ride one of these days.

My son will be back on Thursday and we need to break in is YZ..   I took Friday off so we can do another quick run by the house,  if interested it will be early morning.  We have to be back at the house by 1pm...   It looks like it might be raining pretty good on Friday so, we will see what happens.

Tutorial for what?

Well, it looks like that screw is right in the middle of the bike. I saw that someone actually took off the entire sub frame to get at his. Maybe he was doing other things as well but I'd like to know what exactly has to come off to get to it. I really haven't looked THAT hard at it so forgive me if I sound stupid.

I didn't take anything off. I moved one wire out of the way and was able to get my XXL hand in there with a 1/4 ratchet and socket. Do some searching. I posted pics a while back of when I did it.

I pulled off the headed, since the screw is closest to that side. Made it really simple.

I finally found some more info on this mod..  I'm going to loosen the two clamps on either side of the TB and rotate it enough to get my little torx bit in there.  Wish me luck.  Maybe I should grab a few beers too.  Lol!!

The Philips head screw on the left came out of mine. What a waste of my time that was!  Now, after many failed attempts to reinstall the screw, it is lost on the bike somewhere.  Anyway, I finally took the headed (header) pipe off and loosened the muffler to move it outta the way and put the screw back in.  It was a lot easier than I thought.  Lol!!   I was about to call "Broken Arrow"!

Geez, the screw that came out of mine was a good 1 inch and a half!

I think you removed the wrong one or someone already did it.

That's entirely possible.  Also, I heard/read somewhere that they're possibly not putting the long one in there anymore?  I dunno.

Well, it's in the same location as the one shown in the picture.  I know the one shown is a carbureted model but I'm really hoping it's the right one.  I couldn't see any others in there.

PS:  Now that I think about it, the throttle has always seemed to have full motion.  I didn't notice the throttle being any different than any other bike I've ridden.  And it didn't travel any farther after I took the screw out either.
