I have read the plethora of links about the grey wire mod, seen the thumperfaq, etc. Some seem specific to the wr250, not the 400. After digesting all the threads, I have seen something about the grey wire mod causing some kind of heat issue, but no mention of its affect on reliability. Specific to the 2K 400 is there any hidden issue that makes this anyhting but a no brainer decision to do the grey wire mod???

I have a 2000 WR400F. I did the mod right after I bought my bike three years ago. Never had an issue with it ever. It has been PERFECT! I did all my homework right here on this site. If you can read and follow directions, I can't imagine why you wouldn't have the same results!
