Recognize this carb?

Recommended Posts

I am looking into buying an E from 2004 (date first sold) that is an hour away from me. The owner doesn't know much about it, but sent me a couple of pics via text message. I think that a 2004 E is equipped with a Mikuni carb. My current S has a  slant FCR from Sudco, so I know what it looks like, but I have not seen a Mikuni.

This purchase is dependent upon the fact that it MAY actually be an E from 2003 with FCR, higher compression and real E cams.

Thats a Mikuni,   and you do realize that if its not allready plated,  its almost imposible to plate those in cali.

Keep looking. Not the E for you.

Thanks for quick reply gentlemen! I am not too concerned about plating an E as I already have an S. It really seemed like a great buy especially if it was an earlier E.

I could've swapped parts...

Its an s carb, and if no plate, worth no money in our shite state if ca. Real e intake cam is no biggy, real e exhaust cam is worth having, other than that nothing is special about an e with a mikuni, its a low value s.

Sorry to be so Frank just dont want u to waste money.

There was a REAL E on CL a few weeks ago,  FCR, E CAMS, E exhaust,   it was a Georgia plated bike that someone left in a storage place for 8 years,   the Craigslist ad said,  $500 OBO something like  ''just come get this outta here, i want it gone,  know nothing about it''   lol,  i wanted to get it just for the wheels (18/21),  by the time i called the guy said,  someone is allready loading it up right now...  :banghead:

No worries...Thanks. That's what I came here to find out. Like I said, and maybe it was wishful thinking that it would be an earlier E with all the marbles.

I was that guy when I scored my klx400...no plates and no E gear...I did end up getting it plated but had to jump through some hoops.
