I'm in the process of possibly acquiring an 04' crf250. This will be my first 4 stroke so other than what I've read about this year and some issues with the valves?!? I'm looking for some good feedback from guys/gals that own and ride or race this model...Thanks in advance for the feedback/comments

I have an 04. Haven't adjusted valves in 2 years maybe and there still perfect. I like mine. I rode a 15 crf250 and the only difference I felt between my 04 and the 15 was the 15 felt lighter.

my concern with buying an older bike would be the shape of the crank and main/tranny bearings

 

they don't really have a valve "problem," though it is usually time to do a valve job when the right intake starts tightening up. For me it was after 70 hours.
