I need a new cap for my float chamber; a vital piece appears to be missing. Does anyone have any advise on how to acquire this piece or can someone point me in the right direction of an affordable aftermarket carburetor

Sudco can get the float bowl for you if it can be had.

You didn't specify the year or model, but if it's a YZ400 or 426, consider buying a used carb for an '05 -'09 YZ450F.  It will solve more than one problem.
