Need A Set Of Valves

Last fall, a valve broke on my '02 426 and damaged all the other valves and the cylinder head. I probably would have ended up buying all new parts including head, guides, ect until one of you fine TTer's steered me to Engine Dynamics. Mike at E.D. just informed me that the head is repairable and the only parts I need are the valves and 1 exhaust valve guide.

My question, does anyone know where to get the best price on a complete set of valves? My local dealer wants list price (+6.5% sales tax). At about $90 each, there is some money to be saved with discounts.I am not really interested in aftermarket parts unless they are well proven.

I do not recall which TT member steered me to Engine Dynamics, and I wish to thank you and all the other TT members who make this site so GREAT!

I have used Mike @ edco for years, he has saved me repeatedly.
KMPI will set you up with replacement valves and guides, Mike is a distributor for them.

I use Ronnies.com for my goodies. No problems yet, OEM parts. :)

SFO- could you be more specific please. I haven't had much luck finding Edco or KMPI.

Thanks,

It looks like KMPI makes only SS valves and I prefer to stick with TI. I'll call them to make sure. I do appreciate the info.

Since I also need a new piston, does anyone recomend going 13.5:1 compression? Pros and cons? For my riding stlye, reliability comes before increased performance.

thanks,
