Neutral Light on Cluster.

Hi again.

I need a little help. I installed a DID chain today because my bike needed a new one and once I installed it the neutral light stopped working. I checked all the fuses and they were not broken. I checked the neutral wire that runs down to the trans and that was fine. I checked the plug where the wires connect and that was fine.

The light worked last night and this morning I didn't come on. I tried to start my bike and it didn't want to crank over. I pushed the start button and nothing. I pulled in the clutch lever and it started to kick over.

problem in the wire or nuetral switch down by the counter sprocket,,,,,too fishy that you were just in there and no have an issue,,probably pinched the wire causing an open..

No the bike is not in gear.

Disconnect and re-connect the wire that goes to the neutral switch. A bad connection will make the bike think it is in gear, hence it working with the clutch lever pulled in.

I checked all over and the wire looks good. I'll post a picture when I get home.

Not yet. That was the next thing I was going to check. Work has me busy.

Test- ground boith wires that go to the clutch switch, see if it'll start then.

I got thought to go back on. I road the pig and the chain loosened up I guess. But the light is back on.
