yz250 1987 need help

How much is this engine worth it's in pieces. It looks pretty complete to me but ive never had such engine. Anyone know what it is worth the crankcases need welding.

Any engine in pieces is a gamble. Offer him $50.. Needs cases welded? what else does it "need" ??

clutch housing needs to be replaced, i made him an offer of 50. I can always sell the cylinder for 50.

I agree $50.  its a parts motor unless you can weld/find the broken parts.

I bought it for €60 i can weld the cases, but i need a few more parts.

Is there any information about the parts used in the different year engines. Do some years have the same engines?

86 and 87 are essentially the same bikes, save for paint scheme. I am using a 2hh cylinder that is for an 86 on my 87 1lu body. See "1987 yamaha yz250 restoration project" in Thumpertalk.
